Round rivers and creeks areas are land bands running
parallel to a permanent water body flow. Include
floodable areas, substantial formations buffering
unusual overflow of rivers and creeks springing
in the eastern hills. They are ecologic reserves
of great environmental value.
Round areas management during past years strives
to recover public space traditionally assumed
as nobody’s land; while improving water
bodies’ hydraulic conditions and restoring
natural conditions inherent to such ecosystems.
Such management has contributed to generate conditions
allowing for incorporating such areas to pubic
recreation, environmental education and scientific
research activities.
