Bogotá historical archive consists of documents pertaining to different district administrations, which when time passes become historically valuable. The entity provides archives consultation, and documentary center consultation services. Auditorium, parking lot, Museum, documents exhibition room, storage, preservation and reprography.

The General Archive of the Nation of Colombia houses nearly 40 million documents from different historical periods, both public and private origin, recorded in different supports such as paper, photographs, microchips, microfilms sound tapes and videos. Oldest records date back to 1541 and in summary over 500 years historical information are kept.

The General Archive of the Nation has five technical divisions: Services to the Public, Reprography and Automation, Classification and Description, Special Programs and Administrative and Financial.

The National Archives System – SNA is a program integrating all public and private archives of the country for the purpose of safeguarding documentation wealth and to put information at the service of the community.
