Next to Sagrario chapel, a tower like
three story building known as Cardinal Palace, formerly Archbishop Palace.
Designed by architect Rodríguez Orgaz and inaugurated in 1953. During
the colony and up to early XX century the home classical supports. Were
the residence and home of Royal Customs, prison and offices during the re-conquest
period by “Pacifier” Pablo Morillo and Viceroy Juan Sámano,
death sentences against many patriots were dictated there.
Facing house windows on the plaza where many patriots were shot against
the wall, the most notable among them Policarpa Salavarrieta and her fiancé
Alejo Sabaraín, Manuel Rodríguez Torres, Antonio Baraya and
Count Felipe de Valencia.
