The only five star hotel located in Historical
Bogotá Downtown in one of the few pedestrian sectors of the city.
Located on the north side of calle tenth and carrera sixth. Guests may drive
their vehicle to main hotel entrance right in front of the Chancellery.
Additionally offering valet parking services in reserved nearby areas. Total
29 rooms none of them similar to any other. Two restaurants: La Scala Mediterranean
food in the first floor and El Mirador typical and international food in
the fourth floor, offering incomparable colonial roofs, towers, cupolas
and bell towers of ancient Santa Fe de Bogotá. Automático
bar, remembrance of a famous Bogotá downtown café is a pleasant
colonial place, ideal to enjoy Santafereña traditional tasting appetizers.
The hotel resulted from two old 1800 and 1900-year houses hear the Colón
theatre and facing restored San Carlos Palace. The first floor was built
in 1800 and subsequently remodeled in 1900 when the second floor was built
as part of the house property of an important clergyman. From that time
university legal consultation offices and several commercial establishments
functioned in the house. Finally a Colombian-Italian corporation decided
to restore whatever was left of the house to convert it into Opera Hotel.
Some recovered elements remain as part of decoration such as wood, some
lamps, tinted glass windows and the oratory.
