NATIONAL CONGRESS
Calle 10 entre Carreras 7 y 8
Best republican age works in Colombia and one of the most valuable architectural buildings of the city. The entire structure is built in quarry stone, and construction took 80 years (1847-1926). Danish architect Thomas Reed was responsible for construction until 1880, and the same year Puerto Cantina assumed the responsibility up to 1908, and finally architect Alberto Manrique Martin completed the work.

The building has two interior patios and a central block occupied by Elliptical Room, where Congress holds full house meetings, and the President of the Republic takes office. The two wings ending the building on the south house Chamber of Representatives and the Senate of the Republic meeting rooms. Definitely, this work spirit owes to sobriety. Currently part of the civic complex starting at the Palace of Justice, to the North Bolívar Plaza and extending to the south up to Casa de Nariño, the residence of Colombian Presidents.
