Located in Calle del Triunfo (Carrera
5 between calles 8 and 9), destined to religious activities from the time
it was built in 1655, when it was only one body bell-garble, serving up
to 1880 as military quarters and hospital. Although El Carmen church and
Barefooted Carmelite convent were demolished early in the XX century, a
private foundation restored the old Camarin first conditioning the interior
for educational purposes to later become, during the decade of the 80s,
a theatre sitting 500 spectators, and from that time national and international
artists intensify this cultural building activity. |
